Saracens Football Club was formed by Ken Benbow, Martin Southall and Rob Djemal in May 2004. They formed the committee taking on various tasks within the Club, as well as tasks within the running of the team. Sponsors were recruited, Saracens Head Pub (Hertford), Varney Physiotherapy Practice and Weblight Limited, all provided valuable financial backing in the first season.

Martin Southall’s expertise in IT was invaluable in setting up the Club Website, which has increased our coverage, and allowed us to tell players and spectators about important, and not so important, information regarding the Club.
Presdale Football Pitch was secured, so along with the good Club set up, a sound pitch allowed games to go ahead when other local pitches were unplayable allowing Saracens to produce their trade mark flowing, passing football to good effect.

Our reputation as a Community Club was further enhanced when East Herts District Council invited us to attend their well run Fun Day at Fanshaw Leisure Centre, Ware and provide a Penalty Shoot out competition for the children.
Player wise, Saracens ran the season with a squad of 21 players, finishing a creditable fourth, details can be found in the History Section of our Website.

The Club is looking to the future with anticipation, more sponsors are being groomed to come on board, along with the possibility of a Reserve team in the future.
